You Could Build a Better Boyfriend

0

You love him, but he could look better.
How do you bring that up? How do you get him to actually do something about
looking smarter, cooler, just better?
Or her! This goes both ways.

Look Good, Feel Good, Be Happy

If the outward appearance of your significant other needs a lift, sign up
for “Build a Better Boyfriend” Husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends are
all welcome.

One couple will get an afternoon at Toronto’s Brennen Demelo Studio working
with, yes I said “with,” Brennen Demelo, hairdresser to the stars, to
improve the looks of your partner.

The Catch: It goes both ways! Your partner gets to work with Brennen to
overhaul your looks too. Of course it’s a risk, but the #1 rule of hair is
“It will grow back.”

The Second Catch: Everybody is going to know about it. We’ll be shooting
pix for the magazine What Makes You Happy and you’ll get your 15 minutes of
fame – and you’ll be looking great for it.

There’s no cost to participants for the new hairstyle unless you want to go
crazy and get hair extensions or exotic extras.

Monday May 14 is the date, mark that in your calendar and get ready to be
the best looking power couple in the country. And don’t cut your hair in
the meantime, leave something for Brennen to work with.

If Building a Better Boyfriend (or Girlfriend) sounds like something that would make you Happy, send us an email or leave a comment on our Facebook page.

What Makes You Happy

0

Welcome and stay tuned. Most of what we have on this site right now is from our new magazine, What Makes You Happy. Happiness is a big topic, bigger than we can fit into a magazine printed six times a year, so we’re developing content for this site that will amuse, stimulate and challenge you. It might even make you happy. Thinking about happiness is a step towards happiness. Try it, you’ll like it.

Happiness is on all our minds. Some would say it’s the underlying motivation for everything we do. Despite that, and as a big generalization, most of us are not that good at talking about happiness or how we get it. We’re endeavouring to move that conversation forward. To know what makes other people happy is really interesting. It can be profound, ridiculous, fleeting, long-term, silly or deep and insightful and it can, and should, reflect our complexities. Or not. Just because you spend your days working for world peace does not mean that there are times when just a cold beer and only a cold beer can make you happy. Would you respect the Dalai Lama less if he for once put his feet up and cracked open a cold one?

Let us know how we’re doing. We’ll filter out the cranky comments (or maybe archive them in a crackpot section) and it will be really nice to receive some well considered reactions to what we’ve printed and posted, and some original thoughts. Cheerful smart  people who are willing to share their thinking go to the head of the line.

Thanks for looking in.  There’s lots more to come.
